Benefits and Funding

Funding for our organization mainly comes from the Human Fund as well as donations from several sources who find this program to be highly beneficial. The benefits from this program are endless from helping those in need to helping society maintain itself. The idea of helping those out that are in need come to mind when it comes to helping those who are incarcerated find themselves in society rather then being barred and falling into the same faults that had gotten them in trouble in the past. Finding better ways for them to participate in society can not only benefit them but benefit ourselves when it comes to safety and other things. We want to help for the sake of society as a whole, not just for ourselves.

How We Plan on Helping them out

Our program creates an intensive 6 week program usually consisting of 30 inmates who are preparing  to be released. We allow inmates to build their resumes and communication skills in order to apply for jobs and creates an education program designed to fit the needs in improving those skills. The instructors involved in our program are volunteer teaches whom are willing to help those in need when it comes to obtaining a better education. We have made sure over the past few years that the teachers in our program have a solid background in education, mainly found in the local universities in our area. They will be apart of a team that we have created consisting of 10 team members that will volunteer 3 days a week.
These volunteer teachers will be accompanied by officers that will be overseeing the whole process to make sure that everything is going as smoothly as possible in our program looking out for the safety of our teachers and our prisoners.

Our program is designed to help out the inmates with factors such as better literacy skills, reading , and better interview skills. We have come to the realization that a good percentage of those that are incarcerated in prison are illiterate, which is a huge factor when it even comes to find a job. By improving those skills we can help them out to move on in the world. Another way we help them is by teaching them valuable interview skills. Interviews are a huge factor when it comes to finding jobs, by teaching them the proper ways to hold a conversation it can show their professionalism and their passion in being able to work in the real world.

We use several texts to improve their well being such as Houses of Healing: A Prisoner's Guide to Inner Power and Freedom  that we encourage to be read outside of class just to give them a better look at life and to allow this transition from a prison cell to the outside world an easier one . At Career Premiere we are not only thinking about the future of the inmates, but the future of our citizens !

Why was our program created?

Over the past few years we have noticed that the percentage of inmates that are released tend to find their way back into the system. Nearly 52% of released prisoners find their way back to prison, which is a percentage that is one we don't like to see here at Career Premier. We would like to lower that percentage to go under 52% so that we don't just punish the inmates for their crimes, but we teach them how to be better human beings. Our program wants to be able to lower the percentage of 35% making up of rearrested prisoners to go down.

Understanding that when one is ready to depart from jail finding a job is not that easy, with the job market at a decline over the past few years trying to find a job is not as simple as it had been before. We believe that by allowing those who are awaiting departure from jail should have an opportunity to build the skills they need to allow them to function in society and work as an average citizen. With that idea we believe that building a resume is the first start to building their career which results in keeping them off the streets doing harm to the community. By benefiting them we benefit ourselves. We have created a program to help them build not only their education skills but to also allow them to learn the ways of proper communication skills. These two skills go together properly in order to help these inmates find a better life outside of a jail cell.

Welcome!

Welcome to Career Premiere! We are a program designed to better the lives of inmates that are approaching release by teaching them the ways to function in society to not only benefit their lives but those who are around them. We want to improve their ways and bad habits in order to turn them into regular functioning citizens here in the U.S.A.

We expect a descent percentage of inmates to take our skills and use them in the real world upon their release. By building their resumes up it well help them find a job easier then they would without one. We want them to be able to benefit from our program so that it won't lead them to doing wrong again. Our main focus is to establish a settled ground so they do not fall into the same endeavors  as they had in the past. Focusing on their future is out number one goal to benefit the lives of the inmates means benefiting the lives of our citizens as a whole.

Our Goals:
-Help them Build the skills needed to conduct a proper interview
-Build their literacy and reading skills
-Find them a job after release
-Improve their ability to communicate properly and work with others in a  proactive way
-Keep them busy and away from falling back into wrong doings that brought them to imprisonment
